ifm efector Opens New U.S. Headquarters in Chester County

Reports of the demise of the American manufacturing sector have been greatly exaggerated.
So says Roger Varma, CEO of ifm efector USA, who repeated the mantra Tuesday during a ribbon cutting ceremony at the company’s new headquarters building in the Atwater Corporate Center.
The afternoon ceremony, held under sometimes threatening skies, gave company officials a chance to show off the new 45,000-square-foot building.
The building features amenities like desks that adjust so they can be either sat at or stood at, a workout room, a modern-style glass and open-air interior, a cafeteria and a backyard terrace complete with a grill for informal company gatherings.

Varma said the company, which makes industrial sensors and control products, wants to earn the loyalty of its customers.
“Our philosophy is, to do that, we must first earn the loyalty of our employees. That’s why many of our employees have been in it for the long run,” he said, noting that many employees, like himself, have been with ifm for more than 20 years.
